THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF PROFESSOR DR. ABDULLAH JAHANGIR IN COMBATING VICES IN BANGLADESH

Abstract

This study aims to highlight the contributions of Professor Dr. Khondkar Abdullah Jahangir (may Allah have mercy on him) in combating religious, social, and ethical evils in Bangladesh, with a particular focus on their impact on the Muslim community, especially the youth. The study explores his efforts in addressing these issues through his writings, lectures, and humanitarian services, based on the principles of pure Tawhid, adherence to authentic Sunnah of the Prophetic Sunnah, and the characteristic moderation of the Islamic nation. The research employed the inductive method to gather information and the descriptive method to analyze it in accordance with the guidelines of the Islamic Culture Magazine. The study concluded that Dr. Jahangir served as a pioneering model in addressing societal challenges by raising the awareness of the educated generation, promoting Islamic values, and providing humanitarian services.
